Easy Perfect Corn on the Cob Recipe

Corn on the cob in hot water

Considering how few ingredients go into it, corn on the cob can be tricky to make well. I’ve found a lot of recipes that call for boiling the cobs, leaving the husks on, seasoning the water that are way too fussy and don’t guarantee a fresh, crispy cooked corn on the cob. This recipe is easy to follow, simple to execute, and makes perfect corn on the cob every time.

Ingredients

  • Ears of corn
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Butter/margarine
  • Pepper

Preparation

  1. Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
  2. While the water heats, shuck the corn and wash.
  3. When the water boils, turn off the heat, add the corn and cover for 10 minutes.
  4. After 10 minutes, remove the corn and dry on paper towel
  5. Add butter, salt, and pepper to taste and enjoy!
